Whitetail Valley Cellars Winery

Whitetail Valley Cellars is a small winery in the loess hills of southwest Iowa. We are located in Montgomery County between Viking Lake State Park and Erickson Conservation Area in a beautiful natural setting. Wildlife abounds here. Apple orchards, a source for our wines, grow on the slopes of Whitetail Valley. Apfel Wein is our specialty. We grow over 60 varieties of apples in our sustainably managed streuobstwiese meadow orchard. Our family ancestral home is the Rhine Valley wine region of Switzerland. Winemaking is in our history. We have been making wine for family enjoyment for many years. Our experience has gone into developing our methods of handcrafted small batch production. We craft our wines with care, skill and the highest quality fruit. We create clean, fresh wines expressing our unique Iowa soils and climate.

We are dedicated to expressing our local terroir so you can Taste an Iowa Summer in Every Glass. We have expanded our wine list using other fruit combined with our apples. We craft a variety of other fruit wines. Our goal isn't to be the largest winery in Iowa. Our goal is to always place quality over quantity. Small but excellent. Das Stübli, 'The Gathering Place' is our Swiss themed tasting room. It is a place to relax in a beautiful setting. It's available for your event, meeting or gathering.
