There’s no better way to embrace the holiday season than a stunning holiday light show. Reiman Gardens’ Winter Wonderscape invites you to take a relaxing stroll on a paved walkway through their enchantingly illuminated 17-acre outdoor garden. The dazzling collection of displays feature brightly lit tunnels, massive disco balls twirling to laser lights, dynamic light strands dancing across the frozen lake, a whimsical mushroom forest and more, all accompanied by cheerful holiday tunes. As you walk beneath the lights, stop at the food tents to warm up with a hot chocolate or enjoy a light snack. Once you’ve seen the entire display, grab a Winter Wonderscape light up souvenir to take home.
The light display runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in December from 5 – 8 p.m. Select evenings also feature live music performances. Advance tickets are required to attend.

If you’d rather escape the cold, step inside Reiman Gardens’ tropical plant Conservatory during their regular business hours. Inside, visitors of all ages are enchanted by the RG Express Holiday Train, a custom-built garden-scale locomotive. The detailed display melds botanical design and architecture to create a life-like miniature world. Walk past, around and under miniature buildings and bridges that are historically significant to Iowa State University and local history and are accented with natural materials and a spectacular waterfall.
Be sure to see it before the display ends on January 7. The Conservatory is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.
