Valle Drive-In Theatre

Valle Drive-In Theatre is a historic and well-loved entertainment destination in Newton and the oldest drive-in theater in Iowa. Opened in 1949, Valle offers an authentic drive-in experience that blends classic movie-going with family-friendly fun. It is one of only a few drive-in theaters remaining in the state and the only one in central Iowa. The theatre retains much of its original character, including the vintage neon Valle sign, original movie teasers, and a classic snack shack with an original popcorn maker. Guests are welcome to arrive early to toss a Frisbee or football before the show and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Valle Drive-In is open daily from April through October. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., with movies starting at dusk. Children ages four and under are admitted free, making it a favorite destination for families, couples, and anyone looking to enjoy a nostalgic night at the movies.
