Ruger Family Farm

Ruger Family Farm is a small, family-run farm located near Fenton in northwest Iowa. Our family, Paul, Laura, and our two sons—raise pasture-raised Berkshire pigs and are committed to producing high-quality pork while caring for the land and our animals. Our pigs are raised outdoors on pasture where they can root, graze, and express their natural behaviors. They are moved regularly to fresh ground using rotational grazing, which helps improve soil health and keeps the animals healthy and active. In addition to the forage they find on pasture, our pigs are fed a carefully balanced non-GMO grain ration to ensure they grow well and produce flavorful, nutritious pork. We believe farming should work with nature. By focusing on regenerative and sustainable practices, we aim to improve the health of our soil, plants, and animals while providing wholesome food for our community. Many of our customers tell us they can taste the difference that pasture-raised pork makes. Visitors interested in learning more about pasture-based livestock farming are welcome to contact us. Farm visits are available by appointment, and we enjoy sharing how we raise pigs on pasture and how direct-from-farm pork works.
