Once a gravel quarry, this 200-acre park situated along the South Skunk River offers a 31-acre lake and several gravel pits ideal for fishing and paddling, all just several minutes outside of Ames. The public beach is a summer favorite. Soft trails explore the woodland and prairie areas along the river, welcoming hikers and equestrian users. Park entrances are located on the east and west sides of the Skunk River.
