The memorial was dedicated on July 4, 2015 as a tribute to all veterans in the Mississippi Valley. Artistic scenes depicting each branch of service and the role it has played in peacetime and in war are featured on the front of the memorial, and over 2,055 veteran names are inscribed on the reverse side.
