Maynes Grove is a 280 acre multi-use recreation area with restored prairie, upload oak and hickory timber, and wetlands. Hike, bike, or horseback ride through the 5 mile trail system. Enjoy fishing for bluegills, crappie, largemouth bass, perch, and channel catfish on a 12 acre pond that is also open to kayaking, canoes, and boats with electric motors. Host events such as family reunions, weddings, and birthdays in a 1,600 square foot rental lodge. This area is open to public hunting; popular for deer, squirrels, pheasants, turkeys, rabbits, and several duck species. Maynes Grove has been recognized as one of the best places to bird watch in Iowa. Get out your binoculars and find an array of bird species from songbirds, raptors, owls, and waterfowl.
