Littleton Brothers Memorial

The largest loss of life known in the history of all U.S. wars from any immediate family were the six local Littleton Brothers. All six were lost to the Civil War and the story just recently discovered and documented. Now, through our Louisa County Historical Society, the story will never be lost again as it was for over 100 years. Unlike most monuments built that need costly maintenance provided by the tax payer, we have a fully funded local endowment set up to forever maintain the site at no expense to the public. It is most likely the last Civil War monument to be built. We are so proud of this contribution from an Iowa families truly "Last Measure of Devotion."
