Lefse Lodge Kafe

The Lefse Lodge Kafe is a corner kafe started in the heart of downtown Decorah. Opened by Rod and Cheryl Flaskerud who had a desire to share a little bit of Norway from Rod's heritage with both the community and visitors to Decorah. This cozy kafe specializes in home cooked meals, made with local fresh ingredients from our local growers when they are available. No instant potatoes here! Breakfast and lunch is served every day except Sunday - from 7:30 to 2:00. Our ham balls or Norske meatballs with potato and vegetable, the chicken salad sandwich, soups and hot breakfasts are just some of the special items on the menu. We love making and serving Norwegian treats like Krumkake, Kringla, Rosettes, Sandbakkles, Julekake, Rhubarbkake, Sandnotters and Lefse of course, but we also have muffins, scones, sticky pecan rolls, cinnamon rolls and fresh strawberry pies when the berries are good and sweet. You can even watch Rod make Lefse daily. Our coffee bar includes coffees ranging from light to dark blend and usually includes one flavored option, Tyler's acid free coffee is available upon request and many specialty options at the barista station. Take out is available.
