John Wayne Birthplace Museum

John Wayne, an American actor who became a popular icon through his starring roles in over 170 films made during Hollywood’s Golden Age, especially in Western and war movies, was  born in Winterset, Iowa. The John Wayne Birthplace & Museum is the only museum in the world dedicated to John Wayne. The facility includes the four-room birthplace home restored to its 1907 appearance. Adjacent is the new museum offering an astounding collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the film legend's career and a movie theater with seating originally from Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood where you can watch a documentary on Duke’s phenomenal film career. The gift shop has a wide assortment of John Wayne merchandise and souvenirs.
