Prairie School Architectural Tour

The Prairie School Architectural Tour is a self-guided tour of the largest group of Prairie School designed homes on a unified site. The Rock Crest-Rock Glen Historic District includes Frank Lloyd Wright's Stockman House and homes designed by former Wright associates including Marion Mahony Griffin, Walter Burley Griffin, Barry Byrne, William Drummond and Curtis Besinger. A free Mason City Historic Architectural Tour map featuring an overview of the self-guided walking tour is available at the Mason City Visitor Center. A walking tour guidebook is available for $5 at the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum, The Music Man Square, the Mason City Visitors Information Center and at the Frank Lloyd Wright Stockman House. Self-guided tours are free and can be enjoyed year-round.
