Hillview Recreation Area

Hillview Recreation Area has something for just about everyone. Choose from three campgrounds. Deer Ridge Campground, located on the north side of the park, has 27 sites with electric and water hook ups and a modern shower house. The kids will love the playground! Bur Oak Campground, has 18 sites with electric hook-ups and a primitive restroom and a communal water source. Our largest and newest playground is located very close to the campground. If you want to tent camp and really get away from the crowds, Beaver Creek is the campground for you. There is a primitive restroom and a communal water source at this small campground. Miles of trails traverse the 500 plus acre park, suitable for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and winter sports. The park offers great fishing, birdwatching, and paddling opportunities. In the winter visit our tubing hill on the weekend or attend one of our snowshoeing programs. Have a picnic at one of our picnic areas, or call to reserve our picnic shelter for a larger gathering. The Center for Outdoor Learning may be the ideal place to host your wedding reception or family reunion. From October 15th - January 10th parts of the park are open to hunting. During that time, the park is open to all users, please be aware of others recreating in the park. A blaze orange hat is a smart color to wear if you are walking, biking, or horseback riding in the areas open to hunting, during that time. If all of that isn't enough. We have an elk herd.
