Figge Art Museum

Show Contact Information +
The Figge Art Museum sits on the Mississippi riverfront in downtown Davenport, housed in a glass building designed by British architect David Chipperfield that opened August 6, 2005. Its roots go back much further: in 1925, former Davenport mayor Charles August Ficke donated 334 works of art to create the Davenport Municipal Art Gallery, which later became the Figge. The collection now spans the Renaissance to contemporary art, with particular strengths in American Regionalist, Mexican Colonial, and Haitian art, including a significant body of work and archival material from Iowa's own Grant Wood. Since September 2025, the museum has also been home to a permanent installation by teamLab, the international art collective known for immersive digital work. Rotating exhibitions, family programs and studio classes round out a visit
