Sally’s Alley Mural – “Birds of Icaria” Created by artist Zach Jones in 2024, Birds of Icaria brings vibrant life to the north wall of Sally’s Alley in downtown Corning. Zach, a former artist-in-residence at the Corning Center for the Fine Arts, now lives in Malvern, Iowa, but his connection to Corning continues through this striking piece. The mural is inspired by the natural beauty of Lake Icaria and the surrounding habitats of Adams County—places beloved by both locals and visitors. Illuminated at night, the mural is a stunning sight for anyone driving up Davis Avenue or strolling downtown.
