Rock Crest - Rock Glen Historic District

The largest collection of Prairie-style homes surrounding a natural setting features architectural treasures designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Burley Griffin, William Drummond, Francis Barry Byrne, and Curtis Besinger. Docent-led tours, provided by Wright on the Park, are offered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 9 AM (May 1-September 30). The official walking tour guidebook is available for $5 at the Mason City Visitor Center (13 N. Federal Avenue), as well as a condensed, self-guided map. The Prairie School Architectural Tour encompasses 14 blocks, and the Historic Tour covers an additional 13 blocks.
