River Forks Access

Show Contact Information +
The River Forks Boat Landing is located at the end of the historic 1914 built Convict Road in Louisa County. As you drive to the access you will be driving on road that is over 100 years old, built by convicts to help vehicles get through and "unpassable bank of sand" and cross the Iowa River. At one time there were 4 registered highways that all joined up to cross the Iowa River on this road. The bridge is no longer their, but at low water levels a person can see the pilings left. River Forks provides boat access to the Iowa River Water Trail with primitive tent camping allowed. Minutes from the Louisa County Fairgrounds full-service campsites.
