Historic Squirrel Cage Jail

This rare 1885 three-story Victorian Gothic-style brick structure is one of only three of this type of rotary cell jails left in existence. It served as a jail between 1885 and 1969. Group tours by reservation. Listed on the National Historic Register. Open in the off-season (November through March) on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m and Sundays 1 to 4 p.m. Tours are also available by appointment. April through October Hours: Thursdays-Saturdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
