Tour West Union’s award-winning Greene Streetscape Pilot Project, which incorporated many different green community features including permeable pavers, rain gardens, bio-swales, rooftop gardens and more.
The West Union Recreation Complex is a 40-acre park that offers over two miles of paved walking trails, picnic area, baseball and softball diamonds, soccer fields, a large playground, many wildflower gardens and three ponds open to catch and release fishing of largemouth bass, bluegill and catfish species. West Union also has an aquatic center, bowling alley, and golf course.
Nearby the 100-acre Echo Valley State Park features camping, hunting and trout fishing on Glover’s and Otter Creek. Echo Valley Environmental Nature Trail offers two and a half miles of gravel trails, perfect for hiking and biking. Along the trail, look for the petting zoo, wildflowers and over 80 bird species.
In town, visit the Barrel Drive-In for their famous broasted chicken and a fresh peach shake. Enjoy music and other events hosted at the outdoor amphitheater located in downtown West Union.
