Come see a small city with lots of spirit!

Silver City is located in Mills County in southwest Iowa. It lies approximately 21 miles southeast of Council Bluffs and about 45 miles southeast of Omaha, Nebraska; it is part of the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area. Silver City is situated near the Loess Hills, a unique formation of wind-deposited soil, that features wonderful rolling hills to the landscape, fields and cities.  The population was 245 at the 2020 census.

Silver City had its start in the year 1879 by the building of the Wabash, St. Louis and Pacific Railway through the area.  That railway was turned into a long-distance bike path known as the Wabash Trace which travels through the center of town.

Outdoor Adventures and Exciting Eateries
The trailside area includes the Gerald D. Jones Centennial Park with its lovely gazebo and picnic area.  Silver City’s City Park, located at 103 Pearl Street, features playground equipment and a walking path around the park for some outdoor fun.

El General Mexican Restaurant offers a cool place to get together with friends for delicious food and drinks including alcoholic beverages.  It is nice for a laid-back hangout or a lively place for celebrations.
