Must Do's

Come hungry. Huxley has become a destination for food lovers thanks to Flight Bar + Grille, home of Iowa's 2023 Best Burger, and offering an impressive craft beer selection. For another local favorite, stop by Finski's, where elevated comfort food, handcrafted drinks and welcoming hospitality have quickly earned a loyal following among locals and visitors alike. If you're looking for a post-ride pint, Fenceline Beer Lab offers small-batch craft beer in a relaxed downtown taproom.

Outdoor Adventure & Exciting Eateries

The Heart of Iowa Nature Trail runs directly through Huxley, making it a perfect place to pause and refuel during a ride. Make a sweet stop at Fabled Popcorn Co. or Dotty's Malt Shop & Eats, both easily-accessible by trail.

Relax at Railroad Park before hopping back on the trail, or cool off with the family at Nord Kalsem Park's splash pad. Christiansen Forest Preserve on the outskirts of town offers visitors 1.5 mi of soft hiking trails and 45 acres of woodland to explore.

Leaving town, the monarch butterfly-themed tunnel along the Heart of Iowa Nature Trail just east of town, crossing underneath Interstate 35, is a great photo op.

Community Highlights

Each year in late August, the Huxley Prairie Festival features a parade, sand volleyball tournaments, live entertainment, and more.
