Explore the Downtown

A historic main street lined by pink flowers in baskets.

Step onto Grinnell's Main Street and you'll be surprised by the mix of historic charm and unique boutiques. Stop by locally owned businesses like Loralei's Gift Shoppe, Suzi's Boutique, Beckman Gallery & Gifts or Live Now Consignment.

Get a taste of the area's history with a visit to the Merchants National Banks by Louis Sullivan. Completed in 1914, this hidden gem is just one of eight "Jewel Box" banks that Sullivan created. Though the building is now home to the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce, public tours are offered daily.

While shopping and exploring, grab a coffee from Saints Rest Coffee House or A & M Café, or treat yourself to a sugary delight at the Grin City Bakery.
