Get ready for an electrifying summer of music and community spirit with the Washington Chamber of Commerce’s “Thursday Night Live” 2026 summer concert series! Jazz On A Lower Level is a Jazz trio organized by Gary McCurdy aka The Tubador who is also a retired Washington band director. Completing the trio are Craig McClenahan on keyboard, also a retired Washington band director, and and Iris Dahl on drums, who is a current senior at Washington Highschool. The group is unusual and gets its name from the fact that the tuba is the lead instrument and will be carrying the melody rather than the bass line most of the time. Join us every Thursday evening at 5 p.m. in downtown Washington for an unforgettable experience filled with live entertainment, delectable food, and a vibrant atmosphere. The event begins with the beloved Washington Farmers Market and the entertainment starts at 5:30 p.m. To check out the weekly features at the Farmers Market, visit their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WashingtonIAFarmersMarket To check out the season of entertainment, visit: https://washingtoniowa.gov/experience-our-town/special-events-festivals/thursday-night-live/ Following the concert series, stick around for the renowned Washington Municipal Band, whose tradition dates back to 1932.
