This Body of Work

This Body of Work is a photography series that explores the intersection of transness, body size, and disability. In a society that continues to medicalize, misunderstand, and “other” these bodies, finding a home in our physical form is often a labor of love and survival. This series is meant to celebrate these individuals and spark conversation around medical treatment, mortality, and society’s skewed perception. An array of photos will be on display for viewing in the FilmScene lobby at the Chauncey in downtown Iowa City.
