Sioux Center is set to kick off summer with Summer Celebration June 3-6, with a schedule full of fun activities for all ages, and many are free! James & the Giant Peach, the musical, will be performed daily beginning Weds., June 3, at Te Paske Theatre in Sioux Center Middle School. Tickets are available at www.onthestage.tickets/show/sioux-center-arts/. On Thurs., June 4, Central Park will be packed for the free Community Cook-Out, along with live local music by the NWC Worship Collective and the Amistad Worship Team. Soak in the summer vibe on Fri., June 5, with classic cars and hot rods at the Cruise-In in the Centre Mall’s parking lot. The free street dance kicks off at 7:30 p.m. with local favorite The Ruralists, followed by headliner IV Play from 9 p.m.-midnight. Food vendors and beverage garden are available throughout the events. On Sat., June 6, the day kicks off with a pancake breakfast at the fire station, with proceeds benefiting local schools. Central Park will be the hub of activity with a free Kids Karnival, classic car show, Merchant Market vendor fair, and the Fire & Smoke BBQ Challenge, where attendees can purchase tickets to sample entries and support the Sioux Center Fire Department. The pickleball tournament will return, and Heritage Village will offer open hours throughout the day. The festivities wrap up at 5 p.m. with the Summer Celebration parade.
