Saturday June 6th 6:00  - 8:30 p.m. As part of the fourth annual Pulling Focus African American Film Festival, audiences are invited to a special feature film screening of The Kahiki 3 and Me (65-Minute Cut), directed by Amber Monet. Running June 4–7, 2026, the festival celebrates films from local, regional, national, and international filmmakers representing the Black Diaspora, with screenings and events taking place throughout the Quad Cities at venues including The Last Picture House, Figge Art Museum, Putnam Museum and Science Center, the Steam on Wheels Building, and TMBC Lincoln Center. Set in 1970s Columbus, The Kahiki 3 and Me follows a family celebration at the iconic Kahiki Supper Club that spirals into tragedy after a police confrontation. Decades later, the infant at the center of that night’s events — now attorney Nikki Johnson-Alfano — confronts the lasting impact the experience had on her family, uncovering hidden truths, resilience, and healing along the way. Following the screening, audiences will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual Q&A with director Amber Monet and documentary subject Nikki Johnson-Alfano, offering deeper insight into the story behind the film and its lasting cultural significance.
