Parade of Nations & Opening Ceremony: 33rd FAI World Aerobatic Championship

Be part of history as Mason City & Clear Lake welcome the world to the 33rd FAI World Aerobatic Championship with an unforgettable evening of international celebration in downtown Clear Lake on Sunday, August 23rd. The World Aerobatic Championship is the pinnacle of competitive aerobatics, bringing together the world's top unlimited aerobatic pilots to compete for individual and team world titles. This year marks the first time in 13 years the United States has hosted the championship, and Northern Iowa is proud to welcome competitors from countries around the globe. The festivities begin with live music from Stubble Trouble before pilots and support teams representing nations including France, Spain, Romania, Canada, Guatemala, Portugal, Brazil, the United States, and more take part in the colorful Parade of Nations along Main Avenue in Downtown Clear Lake. Carrying their national flags, competitors will march through downtown before gathering at the City Park Bandshell for the official Opening Ceremony. The evening will feature welcoming remarks, recognition of participating nations, and the official declaration opening the 2026 World Aerobatic Championship. Following the ceremony, enjoy another performance by Stubble Trouble as the celebration continues.
