Live & Let Slide

Live and Let Slide, a 10-member trombone ensemble, will return to the Akron Opera House with a live concert at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8. The group features top-call trombonists from the Lincoln, Neb., and Omaha, Neb., area who will perform a variety of classical music, popular music and new trombone arrangements created by Live and Let Slide members Ian Rutherford and Alex Hoffman. Free will donations be accepted at the door, with recommended donation of $10 for adults and $5 for students. The event is sponsored by the Akron Opera House and support is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council, which exists within the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Live and Let Slide members have performed with the Omaha Symphony, Lincoln’s Symphony, Sioux City Symphony, South Dakota Symphony, Des Moines Symphony, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, Lincoln Municipal Band, Downtown Collective, the Diamond Empire Band, various local big bands, combos, and rock groups. Members are full-time musicians, professors/teachers, students and people who also work outside of the music industry.
