Annual Kalona Days celebration is held in the heart of downtown Kalona. With a focus on local culture and family fun, this event is full of activities for all ages. Friday evening enjoy free horse-drawn wagon rides, live music by Cabin Fever, and food vendors. If you're feeling brave, you can participate in the blindfolded golf cart race, if not, you can watch for great entertainment! Saturday morning kicks off with our annual Fun Run, including a 1 mile and 5K race. This year 50% of registration fees go to our local veteran organization, HERO. After the races kids can compete in the Pedal Pull, bakers compete in pie and cookie baking contests, and everyone gets a chance to try the baked goods in the live auction Saturday evening. Air FX Trampoline and Rock Climbing AND Buggy Races! In the afternoon cool off at the Kalona City Pool or with water activities provided by Kalona Fire Department. Indoors activities held at the Kalona Public Library, and the YMCA will host a pickleball tournament. At the KCTC lot have fun in the barrel train, bounce house. Then pull up a chair on our sidewalks of C Ave and watch the parade with floats from all around Washington County. Parade starts at 4pm, beginning on the west end of C Ave, ending at Kalona Sales Barn. No registration fee, all are welcome to participate! Afterwards, relax down the street at City Park with live music by Old Man Band. Playground and food trucks are onsite.
