Iowa Project AWARE 2026

Iowa Project AWARE is an annual volunteer river cleanup, outdoor recreation, conservation, and environmental education event that brings hundreds of volunteers to a different river every July. This year, which marks the 23nd anniversary, the event will be held July 12-17 on the Turkey and Little Turkey Rivers in Iowa. During the 6-day event, approximately 300 volunteers from across Iowa and the Midwest will clean up and recycle trash from 67 river miles. Campground educational programs will highlight the unique history and ecology of the area.
