Hoberg Art Exhibit Opens October 20

On October 20, 2026, the Betty Strong Encounter Center’s Main Gallery opens an exhibit “The Art of Charles Hoberg.” Charles Hoberg began painting in 2016; he was then fifty-five years old. Having learned a great deal about the visual arts in college, he has limited formal art training and is largely self-taught. Color and form in all things have always caught Mr. Hoberg’s eye, even as representing it in formal drawing has proven a challenge. Painting, however, has provided him a means to express emotion through a more abstract use of color and form.
