A rollicking romp will be had at the Betty Strong Encounter Center at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, as the band High Horse with Kat Wallace performs. Admission is free, but freewill donations are encouraged High Horse is a progressive-acoustic project: two acts blending their own styles of Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country influences together into one lively show. Hailing from Boston, MA, this supergroup delivers a rollicking romp of great vibes, exciting chops, tight vocals and strong songwriting sensibilities. High Horse is G Rockwell, Carson McHaney, Noah Harrington and Sioux Falls native Karl Henry. High Horse has been touring around country for the past three years and are headlining the Sioux River Folk Festival this summer. Joining them for the summer is their good friend and accomplished songwriter/singer/fiddler Kat Wallace, who is a veteran in the folk circuit touring with Rachel Sumner and Traveling Light. Members of this project have won competitions at Rocky Grass, Fresh Grass, Telluride Bluegrass Festival and have appeared on NPR's Tiny Desk."
