Lowry Flying Service and the Grinnell Optimist Club invite you to join us for breakfast Saturday October 3, 2026 6 am -11am. Proceeds from the breakfast are used for a variety of Grinnell Optimist Club projects to bring out the best in kids including: Backpacks for Kids – The club purchases backpacks and supplies for kids. We served over 300 kids. National Night Out- The Grinnell Optimist Club in partnership with the Grinnell Police Department plan an evening of ice cream supplied by the club at no charge to the community at three city parks. The Club Members scoop ice cream for everyone. This gives law enforcement, both city and county as well as first responders, city officials, and some local politicians, the opportunity to meet the community at large. It also encourages neighbors to meet neighbors. Aid to Families who have children receiving medical treatment out of town. The Grinnell Optimist Club has made this our largest project for the community. Gas cards are given to the families to help them with uncovered and costly expenses incurred when a child is in treatment.
