Exhibit: (diasporic) echoes and encounters by Pascal Lafontant

Opening Reception Thursday, September 3, 5:00-7:00 pm, with artist remarks at 5:30 pm. Pascal Lafontant centers his practice in Afro-Caribbean and American diasporic identities, odysseys, familial sagas, syncretic mythologies, and Southern hemispheric bodies to explore migrants’ resilience and homemaking in the US. He grew up in Haiti. He is an engineer, physician assistant, and biomedical scientist whose research focuses on heart regeneration. He teaches regeneration biology, cancer, and aging at Grinnell College. Regular gallery hours: Tuesdays-Fridays: 11:00 am-5:00 pm and Saturdays: 10:00 am-12:00 noon.
