Cruisin' and BBQin' at Hampton, IA

Cruisin’ & BBQin’ at Hampton, Iowa is a Masters Series Competition which is Sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS). Contestants are vying for $10,250 in prize money and a chance to cook at the American Royal Competition and the coveted Jack Daniels World Championship. The cooks pull in on Friday, August 22. There will be music, a kids que cook off, car show participants drive by, and a sponsors reception on Friday. The cooks put their chicken, ribs, pork butt, and brisket on the smokers early in the morning on Saturday the 23rd. Turn ins to the judges begins at noon, 12:30, 1:00 and 1:30. There is an award ceremony at 4PM. Sunday brings out over 200 of the most beautiful cars and trucks of all kinds. Hampton and Franklin County has bike trails, lakes, camping, fishing, shopping, a theater and a food choice for every appetite. Plan a trip not far from home and enjoy a variety of activities.
