Colonies in Bloom

Through a self-guided tour, visit local, private gardens off the beaten path to discover your favorite Amana Colonies hidden gems. Each stop, including gardens and shops, will feature a garden and/or gardening related items. The Colonies are blessed with many talented gardeners that are dedicated to their hobby. Twice each growing season the best yards and gardens, both vegetable and floral, are opened for the public to see. See rate plants, beautiful displays of color, and get tips from the masters themselves. There is also a hunt for painted ‘Hidden Gems’ at each location. End your tour with the Garden Party at the Amana Heritage Museum. There you will enjoy drinks, dinner, live music and yard games. Event is free!
