Bacon Run

The Bacon Run returns in 2026 as part of Ottumwa's popular BaconTown celebration. Participants can choose from a 5 mile, 5K, or 1 mile run or walk along the scenic Des Moines River before enjoying exclusive early access to BaconTown one hour before the general public. Registration includes a commemorative race shirt, a finisher medal, one pound of packaged bacon, five Bacon Bucks to spend on food or drinks at BaconTown, and early festival admission. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each age division.
