Annual Lighting of the Courthouse & Holiday Festival

Since 1934, lighting of the Jasper County Courthouse has been a holiday tradition worthy of a Hallmark movie! The lighting at 6:00 p.m. kicks off a magical night of treasured tradition, new tradition and warm hospitality as friends, neighbors, alumni and visitors gather to celebrate the season! The courthouse is lit nightly through mid-January. Other festival highlights: Lighted Parade – Watch as dazzling floats bring the holiday spirit to life. Horse & Carriage Rides – Enjoy a charming ride through Downtown Newton. Santa, Hot Chocolate & Holiday Fun – Meet Santa, sip on delicious hot chocolate, and enjoy festive entertainment! Holiday Market – Find unique gifts, treats, and festive goodies from local vendors and shops.
