"America 250 Armed Forces Day World War II Re-enactment" In the year of our nation's 250th anniversary, on Armed Forces Day, the Marion Heritage Center honors the Iowans who gave their lives to our country during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor. This year marks the 85th anniversary of the Day of Infamy, and for Armed Forces Day, the Heritage Center is hosting World War II re-enactors from across Iowa to conduct living history demonstrations of the Second World War. A Memorial Service will also be held with a wreath laying and the chiming of a Remembrance Bell recognizing the Iowans who died at Pearl Harbor. The event opens at 9:00 a.m. and runs through 4:00 p m. at the Marion Heritage Center, 590 10th Street, in Marion.
