“What’s On Wednesday: Mom’s Time Out” Quilling – A Paper Art

10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Although many people aren’t familiar with the term, the art of Quilling has been around since the Renaissance period (about 600-800 years ago) when French and Italian nuns used the pages of discarded religious texts and tore them into narrow strips, coiled them around the hollow barrel of a bird’s feather – a quill – and decorated book covers and other items of the church. Now people make anything from a cute little frog to beautiful and large works of art! We will be learning the basics and pick a few projects to complete and some to challenge you when you leave! Everything you need will be provided, but if you have special quilling tools of your own, feel free to bring them! Registration with "What's on Wednesday: Mom's Time Out" is required.
