Cedar Rapids Museum of Art

Show Contact Information +
The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art anchors downtown Cedar Rapids and holds the world's largest collection of works by Grant Wood, the Regionalist painter who spent much of his career in the city. That collection sits alongside significant holdings of work by Marvin Cone, Wood's friend and fellow Cedar Rapids artist, and master printmaker Mauricio Lasansky, within a broader collection of more than 7,800 works spanning Roman antiquity to the present. Three blocks away, the museum operates the Grant Wood Studio at 5 Turner Alley, where Wood lived and worked from 1924 to 1935 and painted American Gothic. Visitors can tour the restored loft, much of which Wood designed himself, with guides on hand
