Amtrak's Southwest Chief traveling between Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA makes it's only Iowa stop in Fort Madison. Eastbound #4 headed for Galesburg, Chicago and intermediate stops between, departs Fort Madison at 10:49am daily. Westbound #3, bound for Kansas City, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Los Angeles and intermediate stops along the way, departs Fort Madison at 6:30pm daily. Tickets may be purchased at the station for travel to or from anywhere in the Amtrak network.
