Beyond The Veil - A Presentation on Victorian Mourning, Funeral, and Burial Practices. Step back in time with local historian, Anna Thomas to the Victorian Era (1820-1914). In this presentation you will learn about the shift in attitudes toward death and mourning with topics such as post-mortem death photography, the rural cemetery movement, tombstone symbolism, grave robbers, Victorian mourning clothing and much much more. The cost is $20 and the presentation will begin at 3:00. Tea and Victorian funeral refreshments will be served.
