Winter Speaker Series: The Christmas Star with David Voigts

The Star of Bethlehem has been an enigma ever since the story was first written down. If it was a natural event, what was it? David Voigts will explore this question by first discussing the clues recorded in the Bible and how these clues often do not match the popular understanding of the star. He then will apply the clues to a prevalent theory that gives a convincing explanation for the star. Included will be the answer to why King Herod did not see the star, yet its appearance caused the Magi to travel hundreds of miles to a far-off land.
