The RAD Run

Get ready to lace up your sneakers and party like it’s 1985!  The Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) is celebrating 40 years of advocacy, empowerment, and community with The RAD Run — a totally tubular 5K for all ages and abilities! Join ICADV on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Water Works Park in Des Moines for a morning filled with fun, movement, and retro vibes.  Race starts at 9 a.m.  Water Works Park, Des Moines  Walk, run, or stroll — everyone’s welcome! This isn’t just any 5K — it’s an ‘80s throwback party! Come dressed in your brightest neon, biggest hair, leg warmers, and RADDEST retro gear. Enjoy live music, food trucks, and family-friendly fun after the run.  Kids 12 and under participate FREE with an adult registration! Whether you're running for a cause, remembering the past, or looking to have a great time, this event is for YOU. All proceeds support our mission to create safe, thriving communities across Iowa.
