TEDxUniversity of Northern Iowa: Ideas Worth Spreading, Right Here at UNI On Saturday, October 25, 2025, UNI will host its first-ever TEDxUniversity of Northern Iowa, bringing the spirit of “ideas worth spreading” to campus. The event will feature UNI faculty, alumni, and community voices sharing bold, thought-provoking talks under the theme Creating Tomorrow—a call to imagine, innovate, and act. Speakers include Dr. Elaine Eshbaugh on facing dementia with honesty and compassion, Gary Gute on how creativity shapes everyday life, Mayor Quentin Hart on unity and leadership, Tatiana Rice on ethics in artificial intelligence, The B2Wins on transforming adversity through music, and Sarah Helleso on empathy and belonging in education. The creative team Morning Run will also present their award-winning short film Sharp and share insights from their filmmaking journey. Through two engaging sessions and the lively TEDx Fest, attendees will experience storytelling, music, and ideas that inspire connection and action. TEDxUNI is more than an event—it’s a movement that amplifies UNI’s culture of creativity, compassion, and community. Supported by campus and local partners, this inaugural TEDx celebrates the power of ideas to shape the future of UNI, the Cedar Valley, and beyond. Join us October 25 and be part of the conversation.
