Event Schedule – Saturday, June 7: Reception: 5:30–6:30 p.m. – Connect over light refreshments Film Screening: 6:45–8:15 p.m. – Color Book Live Q&A: 8:20–9:00 p.m. – With director David Fortune Color Book offers a heartfelt and honest portrayal of families raising children with Down syndrome. Rather than focusing on a diagnosis, Fortune chooses to “just live in it,” capturing everyday joy and individuality. Fortune’s acclaimed shorts include Us (Netflix Content Creators Program winner) and Shoebox (distributed by Amazon Studios). He has participated in top industry fellowships, including the Netflix–Film Independent Amplifier, Village Roadshow, and Paramount ViewFinders programs. A graduate of Morehouse College and Loyola Marymount University, Fortune brings powerful, human-centered stories to life. During his visit, he hopes to connect with local families in the Down syndrome and disability communities. Don’t miss this special night at the Pulling Focus African American Film Festival—a celebration of cinema, culture and connection.
