What are runes? What does runic writing teach about our Scandinavian ancestry? This presentation by Loraine Jensen will provide an overview of the thousands of runestones existing today, primarily in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, with some being researched in North America. Examples of runes in pop culture will be shared along with highlights of a recent “Rune Round” that took place in Denmark with a group of Americans and Canadians, coordinated by Loraine. Bring your lunch at noon to the museum for MoDA’s free monthly speaker series, made possible with financial support from former museum board member Dennis Andersen, Atlanta, GA.
