November’s First Friday: State of the Arts - Iowa’s Artist Fellows

Join us for First Friday at Mainframe Studios on November 7th, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. This special evening celebrates State of the Arts: Iowa’s Artist Fellows, presented in partnership with the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Economic Development Authority. This exhibition celebrates 12 years of the Iowa Artist Fellows program, which has supported 60 boundary-pushing creatives across visual arts, film, music, creative writing, theatre, and multimedia. Showcasing the exceptional work of these visionary artists, the exhibition reflects the diversity of disciplines and communities that define Iowa’s creative scene. Together, their innovative practices are shaping the state’s cultural landscape and reimagining what it means to live, create, and thrive as an artist here. In addition to the featured exhibition, guests can enjoy open studios throughout all five floors, live music with James Tutson, delicious food and drink options, and interactive art experiences. As always, First Friday events at Mainframe Studios are family-friendly, free, and open to the public, offering a welcoming space to connect with artists, explore new work, and celebrate Iowa’s vibrant creative community.
