Celebrate creativity at the MacNider Arts Festival on Saturday, June 14th from 9 AM to 5 PM! This year’s theme, “Art is for Everyone,” invites kids to use their imaginations while making fun and colorful projects all day long. Enjoy free children’s activities, a vibrant Art Market featuring one-of-a-kind handmade works, live music, and great food—right outside the museum. Kick off the day with the always-popular Mayor and City Council’s Free Pancake Breakfast from 9–10 AM (or until it’s gone), followed by food sales starting at 11 AM, including hamburgers, walking tacos, root beer floats, and more. All food proceeds benefit the festival and museum programming. Free kids' art projects run from 9 AM to 5 PM, with volunteers ready to help little artists make suncatcher kites, marbled clay shapes, beaded picture holders, ribbon rings, and classic favorites like easel painting and stepping stones. Enjoy live music throughout the day on the museum’s outdoor stage: Mason City Municipal Band (9–10 AM) NOLA Jazz Band (10:30 AM–12:30 PM) Mac and Cheese Band (1–3 PM) Carol Montag (3:30–5 PM) Bring a lawn chair or grab a seat at picnic tables and bleachers available on-site! The Art Market will be open from 9 AM to 4 PM, showcasing pottery, jewelry, sculpture, glass, and more from talented regional artists. It’s a great opportunity to support local makers and take home something truly unique. For more information, visit macniderart.org.
