Fort Dodge Area Symphony Presents Spells & Tales

The Fort Dodge Area Symphony will present their 2023-2024 season opening concert on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 3pm in the Fort Dodge Middle School Auditorium. A Halloween inspired concert called Spells and Tales, the orchestra will perform Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld Overture, Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, Kyle Wernke’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with narration by Shelly Bottorff and music from the Harry Potter movies. About this concert, Music Director and Conductor Joshua Barlage says, “I really hope our local Potterheads arrive proudly sporting their Hogwarts house colors. I might even show my house affiliation from the podium as well, but you’ll need to come to the concert to find out if I’m a Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.” Single tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the concert. Adult admission is $15.00 and students are always welcome to attend free of charge. Fort Dodge Area Symphony concerts last about 90 minutes with an intermission and can be enjoyed by all ages.
